Brief

A young group, a small budget, a large reach

It has been 13 years now since Integration, the foundation started warning young men about the risks associated with diving into water. The Foundation has been using the same platform: “shallow imagination is disability” However, with the time passing by both: the world of media and young people’s lifestyle have changed. The decreasing number of people watching TV combined with the increase of the role of the Internet made the Foundation change their communication channels. Our task was to figure out how to reach the largest possible number of young people with minimal financial outlay.

Conquer allegro.pl

First of all, we had to find a cheap medium. The campaign using banners was not an option and creating a dedicated website not having the campaign was pointless. The method to convey the message  needed to be interesting enough to secure effective, organic reach.  We decided that in order to enhance the chances to have the viral effect,  we had to combine the unusual performance with equally unusual medium. We decided to take advantage of already existing Internet phenomenon being hilarious descriptions of the items on auctions on the Allegro  platform. The cost of showing the item was only a few zlotys, but in return we received hosting, a reliable address and space to show any offer. Any offer meant of course every offer that was a trade offer. Therefore, we created a series of humorous absurd beach products necessary for every man who expects respect he thought he  deserved. Each of the products boasted features that made a jump into water from a great height – a typical stunt of every boy searching for peer respect- easier and more attractive. A surprising punch line waited for the amused audience at the end of the auction.

Combining sense of humour with unexpected, serious punch line as well as using unusual media – the campaign generated an organic reach of more than 700 thousand views and articles on the main pages of the biggest news providers in the country.
