Sunglasses protect our eyes from harmful radiation by preventing eye defects and diseases. However, awareness of such protection is very low – people mostly treat sunglasses as an accessory – a fashionable gadget. Our task was to build this awareness in the most accessible way possible.
We decided to demonstrate realistically – using the example of sun creams, whose function and properties are ubiquitously known and understood – how UV filters work. We clearly explained that sunglasses give our eyes the same protection as sun creams give our skin. Sunglasses make us invisible to the sun, as if we were disappearing. To demonstrate this, we used a unique UV camera that captures and shows UV rays invisible to the human eye. The innovative film technology allowed us to create an original and engaging demo. In addition, to be in tune with the purchasing mechanisms in this category, we set the film in a fashion-related context.
