Concept development and media support for the launch of the Empik Music music streaming application. Making it known to journalists and consumers as a viable alternative to the big market players. Strengthening the image of the Empik brand as an expert in Polish music, present and active on the domestic music market for years.

As part of our PR activities, we were responsible for organising and coordinating a press event. Its timing coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, so the decision to hold the meeting online was preceded by numerous recommendations to the client about the current situation. Our task was to select partners for the realisation of a professional online conference with a live transmission, appropriately secured in terms of IT due to the fact that the event was closed – intended only for a selected group of lifestyle, music, business and technology journalists. We also supervised the proper preparation of the speakers, provided technical and media support for the conference, prepared the scenario of the event, graphic design, multimedia presentation and ongoing moderation of the online chat.

Parallel to the organisation of the event, we carried out media relations tasks. We developed a Q&A, prepared and sent press materials dedicated to various media groups, provided the opportunity to test the application to the client’s most important journalists, and realised more than a dozen advertising and editorial collaborations with selected titles.

Results

In the first few days after the app’s launch, there were nearly 200 organic media publications, with a reach of more than 2.1 million. The portal Spider’s Web described the launch with the words: ‘Empik throws down the gauntlet to Spotify’. The app clearly stuck in the minds of technology media journalists, who positioned it in their texts in the following months.
